It would be good to know that you could never fail again...wouldn't it?
I'd like to share with you a recent experience I had when hypnotising a subject to demonstrate how this works.
But first, let me explain a little more of this concept. Have you ever heard the phrase "Fail your way to success"? What it means is that you experiment and learn from your experiences so that you can build on that learning and achieve your desired outcome. What would happen if you approached every experience as an experiment in what works and what doesn't work?
Then you simply noted the result and adjust what you are doing. I'd suggest you would start achieving some great progress in the direction of your goals. A great example of this was Edison when inventing the light bulb. He conducted something like 5,000 experiments before he found the way to make it work. When interviewed by a journalist at the time the discussion went something like this -
Journalist - You tried and failed 5,000 times in you endeavour to create the light bulb.
Edison - No. I successfully identified and eliminated 5,000 ways that do not work. This enabled me to find what does work.
Edison was open to learning. Imagine if he had given up because he thought he had failed!
For my own experiences in hypnosis it is the same thing. Each time I work with a subject I am looking for what works and what doesn't work with that subject - whether it's on stage, on the street or in my office. It is also helpful to take note of what other people have learned. There is no failure, only feedback and learning.
Yesterday it happened to me in a conference. During a break someone asked me about hypnosis and I went straight to creating a stuck state where their hand would be stuck to their throat. It didn't work. Did I fail? No. I learnt a way that does not work with that particular subject. There is no failure...only feedback.
So, if something isn't working for you. Take a note of what you are doing or not doing, learn from it, move to the next step.
This is a great reframe that you can use in your own life. Why not give it a go. Your new approach will make all the difference.
I'd love to hear your feedback. Send it to me via a Facebook message or direct to my email which is firstname.lastname@example.org
Have an awesome day :)
