Some people think they can't be hypnotised. This is interesting because we have all experienced a trance like state, or a change in our state of mind at different times each day. Whether we are zoning out watching the TV or while someone is maybe nagging us a bit or maybe just daydreaming. At these times we are choosing to focus on something else to the exclusion of all other things that are happening around us.
Only today, a gentleman I was working with said to me "I wasn't hypnotised". I asked him earlier in the session if he had ever been hypnotised before and he said no. So how can he tell if he was or wasn't hypnotised? His reply was that he had watched my "you tube" videos of my stage show and that he hadn't gone into catalepsy or talked with a fish or done something like that. "Did he want that?" I asked. He replied "No". Easy, we weren't doing that.
As he was starting to learn how to relax and begin to go into a hypnotic state I found a particular picture he could refer to in his mind to focus on. With his focus intently on this picture he was able to experience a different state of mind. He was influenced to create a different state by his ability to focus. So , yes he had been hypnotised. That, plus the other physiological signs indicated that it was so.
A famous, legendary hypnotherapist by the name of Milton Erickson said going into trance was about learning to go into trance. The more we practise then the more effective we become in going into a different state so that we can create positive change.
If you want to experience it then I encourage you to start practising it. A good way to do this is to ask me for my complimentary relaxation rescue recording. Email me at [email protected] and I'll send it to you.
That;s all for today. Have an awesome weekend.
