New Year...New Mind...New YOU! 10 Tips to make New Year resolutions real.

2015 is almost here. What are your dreams and resolutions for the coming year?
Will you try to quit smoking or maybe try to lose weight. These are two common New Year resolutions among many.
Others include not drinking as much, saving more, spending less, being a better person and.....the list goes on and on. In fact there are probably as many Mew Year resolutions as there are people. 
Everyone has a different perspective on what that change means.
BUT, the big question  is........
after making them how will you implement them in a way that makes them stick?

Do you ever wonder why so many people get stressed, anxious, panicky and unhappy?

The statistics say there is something like 1 in 5 people at any one time experiencing mental illness. And the numbers for suicide is not too god either.

So, I thought I'd put together a list of tips to stay happy. How does that sound?

How Long Does It Take To Become A Non Smoker?

Have you ever wondered how much time it takes for a smoker to become a non smoker?

This may be especially important to know if you are the smoker considering to  make that decision to change.  Clients come to see me to create that type of change, as well as many others, and they ask me how many sessions will it take to work?   The answer is “It depends”.

There are a few factors at play. The clients level of desire to create change, the level of willingness to participate in the hypnosis session.

"What if I can't be hypnotised?"

It happens at almost every show And in many one on one or group therapy sessions. Someone will come up and ask me "What if I can't be hypnotised?" or tell me"You can't hypnotise me!"

Both interesting questions and demonstrate that many people today are confused about what hypnosis is, and also , what it isn't"

Lets start with what hypnosis is.
It is a state of deep relaxation where the volunteer is so focused on the hypnotist's voice that they simply block everything else out.

What I learnt from Kung Fu Panda

Sometimes you can see great insights in simple things.
Take kid's movies for example. Like Kung Fu Panda.

Here is this panda, called Po, who works in a noodle shop.
All the time he is dreaming of being a kung fu master.
When he wakes from his dreams he is just a panda.
And yet, he still dreams of his goal in his waking moments.

An opportunity comes for him to train with the greats.
The turtle grand master decrees him to be the Dragon Warrior.

Confusion can open the door to......

Usually I'm the one hypnotising others...yet the other day a shop assistant used a language pattern that through me into a spin. Fortunately, she didn't realise what she had done and she didn't have the knowledge to utilise the state she had put me in.

It was such an unusual experience. I went into the shop, confident that I knew what I wanted to buy. A Mac Book Air. I'd been a PC user long enough and I was ready to change.

After sitting down, telling her what I wanted she came back with this statement "You know it doesn't have a disk drive, don't you?

Your Reality is a construct

If you've watched The Matrix movies you've probably heard that phrase before. But have you ever wondered what that means and how it relates to you?

When we observe people and what they do, we see that they live their lives in accordance with the belief systems that they have installed. The beliefs act like a thermostat. When they get too hot (outperforming to their beliefs) or too cold (underperforming to their beliefs) then the thermostat kicks in and brings them back to normal (whatever they perceive normal to be).

You are wired differently!

Did you know that each of us is wired differently? That's why...if you are hypnotising someone....you need to be reading all the verbal and non verbal cues to check the wiring. It is calibrating how they work at different levels.
This was vividly demonstrated last Saturday at a private show. I was doing. During the suggestability tests at the beginning of the show one person in particular reacted differently. When doing the finger vice test, rather than her fingers come together they went away quite strongly and very clearly.

Have you noticed what you have been thinking? At last night's hypnosis demonstration I was sharing on how our thought processes work. It was at a yoga school (QI YOGA Freshwater Beach, NSW).

In brief, that our ability to do something was simply whether or not we thought we can do it. Once we move past that point of thinking we can't do something and believe we can...then we seem to be able to do it.

Mark, the owner of the school was asking if hypnosis could be used to help students become better.
